Silent Man - Opening Scene - Dir. Joseph Russell feat. Adam La Rosa
Check out this opening scene from a brilliantly shot and very relevant film I was in called Silent Man from Space Tourist FIlms and director Joseph Russell. SILENT MAN is the story of a masked crusader who has the city on high alert. The mute but ruthless Silent Man communicates using his signature yellow calling cards and is working his way through a list of crooked officials (of which I play one of them). When he is identified as an escaped asylum seeker on a mission to find his missing daughter, the government scrambles to spin the story into a terrorist plot and divert attention from their immigration detention program. The controversial 'New Life' program has succeeded at getting children out of detention but The Silent Man is convinced there is more to it than meets the eye. He is also a diagnosed paranoid schizophrenic with delusion disorder and it soon becomes apparent that his daughter and the government conspiracy he is trying to expose may all be a figment of his imagination. I had a lot of fun on the set of this fantastic 33 minute film acting alonside the talented Alexis Watt and George Iskander as Silent Man. SILENT MAN also won the coveted Remi award at WorldFest Houston last year. I was super skinny as I was in my recovery stage from my accident, read about it in my blog on adamlarosa.com/blog. Hope you enjoy this scene! 😶

Video Audition Based on HBO True Detective - Adam La Rosa
A recent audition for a feature film required me to send a video audition 2 different scenes from HBO TV series True Detective. The scenes are from scenes starring Matthew McConaughey. First scene played in 2 different ways, 2 different moods and undertone, the second scene my own way!
Back In Very Small Business (Self Tape Audition ABC TV) - Adam La Rosa
Recently I was asked to audition for a small role of a parking inspector in a new ABC (Australian Broadcasting Corporation) TV show called 'Back In Very Small Business' as a parking inspector. It was a 2-handed piece, meaning there were two people in this particular scene, myself as the parking inspector and another person. I didn't have enough time to organise someone else to read the other part for the self-tape, so I did it all by myself. I approach a car, look at its location, check the number plate, check the sign and verify that it's parked illegally, telling someone this as well when they call out. Next thing, I feel someone (most likely the owner of the vehicle) putting what turns out to be a $20 note in my pocket and I then conveniently realise that my scanner is broken anyway, so I can't issue the infringement!
News Media Story on The Legend Of Ben Hall
WIN News Central West is the news division of the Central West region of Australia. They recently ran a story on their news service about the upcoming Australian feature film epic The Legend of Ben Hall. Writer, Producer, Director Matthew Holmes is interviewed about its upcoming release. The meticulous attention to my hat fitting (Adam La Rosa) gets a showing too, that alone typifies the painstaking attention to detail put into this film. Just another positive step for this amazing film leading upto its premiere and release.
Courageous Conversations - by Adam La Rosa & Steven Sammut
Recently I landed an Acting job with ANZ, filming a very dialogue heavy scene for an internal-only ANZ bank corporate training video, playing the role of Bashir. What's exciting about it is that it is filmed completed in VR (Virtual Reality), which will be a first for me and as I understand a first for ANZ who are trialling this new type of technology for their training. Because the VR camera has cameras literally all around it, I will have to perform my dialogue not to a person, but to the VR camera itself, totally bizarre but exciting. The other great thing about it is the a fellow Actor friend, Steven Sammut landed the job as well, playing my manager, Mick. So knowing that there wasn't really going to be an opportunity to cut, we would have to perform all the dialogue in the scene in one take. Now a rough rule of thumb in film is that every one page of script is equivalent to one minute on screen, so naturally the six pages we had would be roughly six minutes on screen - a lot to remember. But we rose to the challenge. Steven came to my place the day before and we rehearsed for the better part of 5 hours. I set up my GoPro camera in three different vantage points and then cut together this final take of our scene as a memory of that day. Hope you enjoy it!
Adam La Rosa - Selftest 2014 (Australian Muslim Special Forces)
This is a short self-test of actor Adam La Rosa. In it, he is an officer of Muslim background in the Royal Australian Air Force, on a webcam meeting with his nameless, faceless superior officer. **Please note, sound is from the microphone of the webcam, so when my voice is raised it distorts a little, which actually happens when on real webcam chats. Also on occasion the video loses focus and auto-adjusts itself, as does any normal webcam. The emotion, angst, passion and frustration however, are all very real! :)*** Adam can be reached through his agent: Gilchrist Management +61 (2) 6621-8062 firstname.lastname@example.org www.imdb.me/adamlarosa www.starnow.com/adamlarosa
