This page exhibits an example of a 'take-off report' I would make for use in Quoting. The report provided is for all works typically done by the Wall and Floor tiler, including Cement floor preparation and Waterproofing.
Utilising the drawings provided by the architect - I like to draw colour coded mark-ups on the plans so they are easier to read, locate and edit in future when it must be re-visited.
I find this process is always able to be adjusted and experimented with - to ensure an expedited report with best quality result.
If the job is smaller - with details gained by a site visit, the report will include photographs of the site and I will create my own drawings with dimensions if I find it necessary.
Separate to this, I would contact the tile supplier specified for prices and their terms. Plus I would contact alternative suppliers for an improved price option.
The location and logistics of the job is also very important.
- If the work is interstate - there will be extra costs for working away from home, ect.
- If the parking scarce - I will find the best solutions for Car parks or permits.
While every job comes with its unique set of logistical challenges - they all exist within a predictable range.
